This is a 1/48 Scale A-7E Corsair II Plastic Model Kit from Hasegawa. The LTV (Ling-Temco-Vought) A-7 Corsair II was designed for the US Navy as a light attack aircraft to replace the A-4 Skyhawk. Corsairs first entered Navy service in 1967 and were used extensively in combat over Vietnam. The A-7E and its Air Force counterpart the A-7D were derivatives of the original design with an upgraded engine and avionics package. These versions provided valuable service for many years until replaced by more modern aircraft such as the F-18 Hornet and F-16 Falcon. However some still fly in foreign countries.
